Stephanie K. Sargent, MHA, RN, CPPS
Stephanie is a seasoned clinical and Lean Six Sigma professional with more than 22 years of experience in health care. As a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, she is skilled in identifying clinical and operational performance gaps to decrease professional liability risk, meet regulatory and accreditation requirements, improve clinical quality and patient outcomes and reduce waste and inefficiencies.
Stephanie most recently served as the Patient Safety Program Manager at the Medical University of South Carolina where she directed safety efforts throughout the health system and provided strategic direction and programmatic initiatives to improve patient safety. Early in her career, she served as a Performance Improvement Facilitator at MUSC where she led numerous large scale, multidisciplinary, improvement projects. She was instrumental in the rollout and early adoption of Lean Management principles and Six Sigma methodology in the organization and providing classroom instruction to all levels of staff and leadership.
Stephanie also worked as a registered nurse in Atlanta, GA, San Diego, CA and Charleston, SC. Three years spent as a traveling nurse provided valuable exposure to and clinical experience in a variety of settings and specialties.
