Lancaster County, PA, January 5, 2018 – Saxton & Stump is pleased to welcome Christopher B. Rumpf, MD to the firm’s Lancaster office. Dr. Rumpf brings over 35 years of successful implementation in healthcare management and quality initiatives to the firm. As Senior Medical Consultant, he assists with mitigation efforts on behalf of the firm’s clients, helping them reduce the risk of lawsuits, improve revenue, and provide support through healthcare management and quality initiatives. He also supports the firm’s defense lawyers by helping them understand clinical issues with cases. In addition, Dr. Rumpf works with Saxton & Stump’s strategic partner, SE Healthcare, with the company’s Clinical Effectiveness Platform and RE Pathways, specialty-specific tools designed to help measure physician health, client experience, enhance reimbursement negotiations, and provide guidance for improvement.
Prior to joining Saxton & Stump, Dr. Rumpf served as Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for Valley Health System, in Winchester, Virginia, where he was responsible for quality, patient satisfaction, and utilization management for six hospitals, their medical staff, and a 120 member physician group. Over the course of his career, he has held high profile positions, having served as Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Capital Blue Cross and Medical Director at Aetna. In addition, Dr. Rumpf conducted a full-time practice, specializing in internal medicine and geriatrics, where he also served as Managing Partner. He graduated from Muhlenberg College before attending Temple University School of Medicine, where he earned his M.D. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Lehigh Valley Hospital Center.
