Daniel J. Ferhat is a highly experienced trial attorney in the firm’s Healthcare Litigation group, defending healthcare providers and professionals in complex medical malpractice cases and other liability matters. Dan works with hospitals, healthcare systems, doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals not just in trial cases, but also in appellate cases in federal and state courts.

His extensive experience in court at his former firm, White and Williams in Philadelphia, includes successfully defending clients in malpractice cases involving infant deaths, brain damage, wrongful death and multiple other intricate medical issues. Dan’s extensive knowledge and experience with complex medical cases, including the innovative technology he uses during his trials to make complicated cases look simple to jurors, helps him stand out among his peers as a go-to attorney for some of the most complex medical malpractice cases in the Philadelphia area. He also works with healthcare industry clients and in-house counsel as a trusted advisor on preventative measures such as peer review and patient safety, to prevent catastrophic lawsuits before they happen.

A prolific speaker and writer, Dan has written for various news sources and presented at industry group webinars and seminars. He’s been named to the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers “Rising Stars” list several times, is a fellow at the Academy of Trial Advocacy, and received the President’s Award at the Philadelphia Association of Defense Counsel for serving as the organization’s president in 2020. In 2020, the Defense Research Institute based in Chicago recognized the association as “the most outstanding local bar group in the United States.” The institute also awarded him with its “Exceptional Performance Award” in 2021.
