NORRISTOWN, Pa., January 22, 2025 — A Bucks County man is free from criminal charges against him after Saxton & Stump defense attorney Mark E. Cedrone secured a not guilty verdict in a suburban Philadelphia court Tuesday.
In 2020, the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office charged Cedrone’s client, Mark W. Eisold of Hartsville, with multiple felony counts of theft and theft-related charges concerning billing irregularities at his former civil engineering company, Boucher & James Inc. located in Doylestown. At the time of the charges, Eisold was a former Managing Director at the firm, and the government claimed Eisold and two others overbilled clients for hours not worked.
After a two-week trial before the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas, however, Cedrone convinced the jury that Eisold was not guilty of all charges brought against him.
“My client never intended to cheat his former clients. Never,” Cedrone said. “His intention was always to capture a fair and accurate cost for the work provided. This case should have never been brought against Mr. Eisold. The Commonwealth’s analysis of the purported losses and its theory underlying them was completely deficient.”
Two other former Boucher & James officials charged in this case but not represented by Saxton & Stump agreed to plea deals rather than go through with a trial. Eisold faced more than 50 years in jail if found guilty, but now is free from the government’s charges.
Cedrone was joined by Saxton & Stump attorneys Stephen J. Fleury Jr. and Aubrey C. Emrich, senior paralegal Andrea Aikman and legal assistant/paralegal Rosanne M. Miller on the defense team that proved Eisold’s innocence.
“I’d like to thank the members of this team and their diligent work that made this rare not-guilty verdict happen,” said Cedrone, co-chair of the Saxton & Stump Investigations and Criminal Defense Group. “It was a true team effort at every level, and this highly favorable verdict was the result of hard work by the entire team.”
