Mary Beth Alexander is a legal analyst in Saxton & Stump’s Construction, Construction Litigation and Business Litigation and Strategic Solutions groups. She has more than 30 years of experience in construction and complex commercial litigation. She has worked on private, AAA and international arbitrations, state and federal court litigation, and various administrative tribunals. Her experience includes supporting representation of construction contractors, subcontractors, equipment suppliers, engineers and architects in all aspects of construction disputes including bid protests, contract disputes, delay, acceleration, and inefficiency claims, bond claims, and mechanics’ lien claims. She frequently interacts directly with clients to assist the attorneys she works with in providing cost-effective representation.
Mary Beth assists with all stages of claim development and litigation, with a heavy focus on discovery and trial preparation and presentation, including the effective use of technology tools to present evidence during trial. She uses her experience and knowledge of construction law issues to assist with drafting pleadings, discovery, and brief writing. She also has extensive experience with e-discovery issues, including gathering, analyzing, producing, and managing large volumes of electronic data. She stays updated on significant developments in construction law and assists in preparing articles and seminar materials.
Before joining Saxton & Stump Mary Beth worked for several Pittsburgh-based firms. She is a past-president of the Pittsburgh Paralegal Association, a past representative to the National Federation of Paralegal Associations and was among the first paralegals in the country to sit for and pass the Paralegal Advanced Competency Exam (PACE).
She received her paralegal certification from Penn State Behrend and attended Duquesne University.
