Kiandra Steffy joins Saxton & Stump’s growing litigation practice in Lancaster
LANCASTER, Pa., March 2, 2020 — Saxton & Stump announced today that attorney Kiandra D. Steffy has joined the firm as an associate to focus her practice in Labor and Employment, Title IX and Commercial Litigation. She has experience with state and federal employment law and provides representation in employment litigation matters. Steffy assists employers in the internal investigation of allegations of workplace misconduct and will represent higher education entities with regard to Title IX matters.
“Kiandra has established herself both as an experienced litigator and as a community influencer,” said CEO James W. Saxton. “We are enthusiastic about the added depth her skillset brings to several of our practice teams and we are looking forward to not only the great service she will provide to our clients, but also her continued growth within the community.”
Prior to joining Saxton & Stump, Steffy served as an Associate in the litigation group of a Harrisburg-based law firm for five years where she focused her practice in fiduciary litigation, employment litigation and education law. As a participant of the Clemency Project 2014, which allows non-violent, low-level offenders to receive pro bono representation, Steffy successfully petitioned for an incarcerated individual to receive a commuted sentence after being granted clemency by former President Barack Obama. She is the first member of the National Bar Association to file a successful petition for clemency.
In 2017, Steffy was awarded The Legal Intelligencer’s Distinguished Leader Award which recognizes lawyers who demonstrate clear leadership skills to achieve results with significant positive impact. Last year, she was honored by The McCaskey High School Alumni Association with their Distinguished Alumni award for her achievements as an attorney and in the community.
Steffy is an active member of the Lancaster community and has served in many leadership roles. She is currently Chair of the Junior Board of Directors for Girls on the Run of Lancaster and is on the Board of Trustees for The New School of Lancaster. Steffy also volunteers with the Children Deserve a Chance Foundation (Attollo), a Lancaster-based organization founded by her husband, Jordan Steffy, that supports the financial, emotional and spiritual development of underprivileged and disabled youth.
Steffy received her J.D. from Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law and her B.A. in Communication and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland, College Park. She previously served as an Assistant City Solicitor in the City of Philadelphia Law Department as well as an arbitrator for the Office of District Court Administration in Lancaster. Steffy also served as judicial law clerk for the Honorable Dennis E. Reinaker.
