Attorneys Sarah Ivy and Stephen Fleury give presentation on COVID-19 guidance for employers

Saxton & Stump attorneys Sarah K. Ivy and Stephen J. Fleury, Jr. recently presented on COVID-19 guidance and practical ways for providers to protect their employees and business. The webinar event was hosted by Pennsylvania Advocacy and Resources for Autism and Intellectual Disability (PAR), a nonprofit that represents provider organizations whose mission is to serve and support children and adults with autism or intellectual disabilities.
In this presentation, Sarah and Steve provided valuable information on the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) and the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) as well as guidance released by the Department of Labor (DOL) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). They spoke on topics such as healthcare exclusions for designated service providers, hazardous duty pay, responding to staff absences due to COVD-19 and lack of PPE for staff and liability of providers. They also addressed effects of new legislation on employee benefit plans (health, welfare and retirement), leave of absence rules, COBRA continuation of coverage requirements and opportunities for employer tax credits.
