Attorneys Andy Berger and Kamron Abedi join Saxton & Stump’s growing business law and M&A team

LANCASTER, Pa., August 3, 2020 — Saxton & Stump announced the expansion of its business and corporate team with the additions of attorneys Andy P. Berger as shareholder and Kamron W. Abedi as associate. The move expands the firm’s business and corporate and mergers and acquisitions team, including more than 15 attorneys, many of whom are established leaders in this field.

“Andy and Kamron are talented business lawyers with a passion for innovative solutions and client service, which aligns well with Saxton & Stump’s business values,” said James W. Saxton, CEO. “The continued growth of our corporate and M&A groups enables us to better support our clients and Pennsylvania businesses in these evolving times.”

Berger practiced corporate, finance and capital markets law for 22 years and served in the U.S. Air Force prior to attending law school, where he was an Avionics Technician on F-16 fighter jets for four years. He received his J.D. from Temple University School of Law and his B.A. in Economics from Valdosta State University.

Abedi received his J.D. from Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University in 2019 with an Entrepreneurship Law Certificate and received his B.S. in Public Service and Public Policy from Arizona State University. During law school, Kamron was the founder and president of the Business Law Society and was a CALI Excellence for the Future Award recipient for legal writing.

Both Berger and Abedi join Saxton & Stump from Stevens & Lee, a Reading-based law firm. Last year, Stevens & Lee shareholder John M. Hogan joined Saxton & Stump’s M&A team with a unique focus in transactions involving the Corporate Healthcare and Life Sciences industry. The firm also welcomed M&A attorney Anthony J. Foschi, from Pittsburgh-based Tucker Arensberg to establish the firm’s Hospitality practice.

Kathy Granbois was named Chair of Saxton & Stump’s Business and Corporate Law group last year and leads the team of attorneys who assist clients on general business matters, such as forming a new business, governance, debt and equity financing, commercial contracts, joint ventures, business succession and mergers and acquisitions (M&A). The group works closely with the firm’s intellectual property, labor and employment, real estate and employee benefits and executive compensation attorneys as needed to ensure comprehensive yet practical advice that enables clients to achieve their business objectives.
