A multidisciplinary Saxton & Stump team — Matt Chabal, Jason Confair, and Steve Matzura, with strategic support from the Hon. Christopher C. Conner (Ret.) — successfully defended two injunction attempts aimed at stopping a significant construction project. Either injunction, if granted, would have halted the project, jeopardized a $2 million state grant, and placed the client’s business at substantial risk.
Following these victories, the court awarded the client more than $276,000 in attorney fees and costs, including a full recovery of Saxton & Stump’s defense fees. The award also provides funding to pursue a related federal action seeking additional damages.
This result demonstrates the strength of Saxton & Stump’s coordinated Construction, Business Litigation, and Environmental, Workplace Safety and Utilities groups, working together to protect the client’s project, mitigate financial exposure, and position the client for continued success.
