Saxton & Stump adds Dietrich Law Firm

LANCASTER, Pa., December 19, 2023 — Saxton & Stump has announced that as of Jan. 1, 2024, the Pennsylvania law firm Dietrich Law will join Saxton & Stump. The move is a part of Saxton & Stump’s continued strategic plan to add depth and breadth with highly talented attorneys and paralegals to further expand key practice groups. All three of the former firm’s lawyers are joining Saxton & Stump and they will continue providing services to senior care, healthcare, and commercial litigation clients.

Brian Scott Dietrich will join as an equity shareholder, and Taylor Nicholas and Michael Wenke will join the firm as senior counsel attorneys. All three will be members of the firm’s Senior Care, Healthcare Litigation, and Commercial Litigation groups, as will the three paralegals that will be coming from Dietrich Law Firm.

Dietrich is the owner and managing partner of the Dietrich Law Firm and has been in private practice for the last 34 years. He is an experienced litigator with over 34 years in healthcare and elder law litigation throughout the Pennsylvania civil courts and the Orphans’ Court Division. Dietrich focuses his practice on the representation of assisted living facilities, hospital facilities, and long-term care nursing facilities. He also represents medical practices in matters of benefit disputes, contracts, employment, Medicaid, insurance, and litigation defense. He earned his law degree from the University of Richmond School of Law.

Nicholas also focuses his practice on the representation of assisted living facilities, hospital facilities, and long-term care nursing facilities. Before joining the Dietrich Law Firm in 2019, Nicholas served as regional counsel for the Pennsylvania Office of General Counsel in the Department of Human Services. He represented the state in Medicaid cases and the Department’s County Assistance Offices in Bureau of Hearings and Appeals administrative appeals, Orphans’ Court matters, and appellate litigation. Nicholas also represented the Department in Medicaid provider rate appeals, facility licensing matters, and employment disputes. He received his law degree from Duquesne School of Law.

Wenke is an experienced litigator with more than 40 years of experience and focuses his practice on the representation of assisted living facilities, hospital facilities, and long-term care nursing facilities. He has held multiple leadership positions in the Delaware County Bar Association and served several years in the Pennsylvania Bar Association House of Delegates. Wenke is also a member of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice and was a charter member and president of the Guy G. DeFuria American Inn of Court. He received his law degree from the Dickinson School of Law.

In addition to the three attorneys, the three paralegals from Dietrich Law Firm also will be joining Saxton & Stump. Jessica Bartholomew, Victoria Varrese, and Ashley Kelly have combined, more than 45 years of paralegal experience to add to Saxton & Stump’s strong paralegal team.
