Saxton & Stump adds IP attorney Steven O’Donnell Ph.D.

LANCASTER, Pa., May 1, 2023 — Saxton & Stump is pleased to announce that attorney Steven L. O’Donnell, Ph.D. has joined the firm in its Intellectual Property Group. A registered patent attorney who grew his solo practice for over a decade, O’Donnell counsels businesses on protecting their established and potential IP. At Saxton & Stump, O’Donnell will continue to work with businesses and entrepreneurs to identify and protect their intellectual property. O’Donnell’s former firm becomes the third solo IP practice folded into Saxton & Stump in the last 18 months after former solo practitioners Andrew Mead and Jason Somma also joined during this time.

“Steve is the latest addition to an IP team that now includes a renowned litigator, a former patent examiner, a team of franchise attorneys, and several successful entrepreneurs with backgrounds in finance and tech,” Saxton & Stump CEO James W. Saxton said. “We’re excited to welcome Steve as he’s going to join a group dedicated to bringing experience, knowledge and our client-centric focus to businesses and individuals.”

O’Donnell has been working in patent and trademark law for more than 20 years and has obtained numerous patents and trademarks for his clients. In addition to the patents he already has helped his clients secure, he has dozens pending patent applications in front of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He also has a large portfolio of trademark registrations and applications under his management. He is approved to try cases in front of the USPTO and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Before O’Donnell received his law degree from the Temple University Beasley School of Law, he first received a Ph.D. in neuroscience from the Penn State Medical College in Hershey.
