Saxton & Stump Adds Seven Professionals to Its Firm

Lancaster County, PA, January 21, 2016 – Saxton & Stump, LLC is pleased to announce the addition of seven professionals to the firm.

Carrie E. Evans, Esq. joins Saxton and Stump as an Associate Attorney, focusing her practice on health care litigation, representing doctors, hospitals and other health care professionals in medical malpractice cases. Carrie served as a law clerk for the Honorable Lawrence F. Stengel, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.  Following this clerkship, she was an Assistant Defender for the Defender Association of Philadelphia.   She was most recently an Assistant Public Defender for the County of Lancaster Office of the Public Defender.  Carrie received a B.A. in Political Science from Middlebury College. She spent one year studying abroad at the London School of Economics.  She later received a J.D. from Cornell Law School.

Maggie Hayes-Oberst, Esq. joins Saxton and Stump as an Associate Attorney, focusing her practice on health care litigation, representing doctors, hospitals and other health care professionals in medical malpractice cases. Maggie most recently served as a Judicial Fellow to the Honorable Anne Marie Coyle of the Court of Common Pleas – Criminal Division, First Judicial District of Pennsylvania. Prior to this role, she served as a Certified Legal Intern for the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office and an Intern for the Bureau of Consumer Protection for the Office of the Attorney General, both in Philadelphia, PA.  Maggie received a B.A. in Philosophy with a double minor in English and Ethics from Pennsylvania State University and a J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law.

Vaishnavi Arshanapally, Esq. joins Saxton and Stump as an Associate Attorney, focusing her practice on health care litigation, representing doctors, hospitals and other health care professionals in medical malpractice cases. Vaishnavi most recently served as a Litigation Associate for Salzmann Hughes, P.C. She received a B.A. in Psychology with a concentration in Neuroscience from Boston College. She later received a J.D. from the Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University where she received numerous academic awards.

Darcie M. Hammer, MD joins Saxton & Stump as a Senior Medical Consultant. Dr. Hammer is a board-certified attending physician with more than 12 years of Emergency Medicine experience.  She currently serves as the Assistant Director of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Medstar Montgomery Medical Center.  Prior to earning her M.D., she worked as an engineer for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). She was later promoted to Deputy Branch Chief in the Office of Military Technologies at NASA’s Ames Research Center.  Dr. Hammer received a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.  She later went on to receive her M.D. from Georgetown University and completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at Johns Hopkins University.

Jessica E. Ritter joins Saxton & Stump as a Senior Account Executive. She brings over 14 years of experience in medical sales and business development to the firm.   She was most recently VP of Strategic Development for Pansalus Consulting. Earlier in her career, she served as a Senior Sales Representative for Eli Lilly & Company. Jessica received a B.S. in Secondary Education from Bloomsburg University.

Kazia M. Gemmill joins Saxton & Stump as a Paralegal with a background in Insurance and Medical Malpractice Defense and General Litigation Defense. She most recently served as a Legal Secretary for Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith, LLP.  Kazia received a B.A. in History from Millersville University and an A.S. in Paralegal Studies from Harrisburg Area Community College.

Mercedes J. Minney joins Saxton & Stump as a Customer Support Representative. She most recently served as a Sales & Marketing Assistant for Wyndham Grand Charleston Mills House.  She assists Saxton & Stump’s strategic partner, SE Healthcare Quality Consulting, by providing onboarding and client support for their web-based platform used to measure patient satisfaction and clinical best practices.  Mercedes received a B.A. in Exercise & Sports Science from Eastern Carolina University.
