LANCASTER, Pa., March 9, 2022 — Saxton & Stump has recently added four attorneys to the depth of resources the full-service firm is able to provide to clients. Sarah Holloway has joined the firm’s Regulatory and Government Affairs, Environmental, Workplace Safety and Utilities, and Real Estate teams. Neil Devlin adds to the Death Care and Real Estate teams, and Jared Hershman will join the firm’s Healthcare Litigation and Mitigation team. Senior Counsel Andrew Mead, whose hire was announced earlier this month, is a patent attorney and will support the firm’s intellectual property law clients. Mead is the seventh attorney to join the firm this year.

“As we look forward to this new year and new phase of growth, we’re excited by the opportunities that these talented attorneys will open for our clients and that our firm can open for each new attorney,” said Saxton & Stump CEO James Saxton.

Strategic growth that is designed to deliver for clients Saxton & Stump began the year by announcing an IP-focused partner company, launching a new Franchising, Licensing and Distribution practice and adding significant resources to their intellectual property team. The moves have not kept the firm from hiring several associate attorneys in a number of key areas. The attorneys each bring with them valuable experience that allows Saxton & Stump to offer deep resources while delivering the highest level of client-centric service that has been a hallmark for the firm.

Holloway has a background in policymaking and has joined the firm’s Regulatory and Government Affairs, Environmental, Workplace Safety and Utilities, and Real Estate teams. She previously served as Legal Counsel to the Finance Committee of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, where she played a key role drafting and analyzing legislative policy as well as advising House members on state and federal law, especially concerning taxation and fiscal policy. As a member of the Regulatory and Government Affairs team, she will assist clients with advocacy, analysis, research and other government relations matters involving federal, state and local regulatory bodies and rules. She also supports the Environmental, Workplace Safety and Utilities team with their efforts on behalf of public and private entities, and assists the Real Estate team in their work with governmental bodies. She earned her J.D. from Widener University Commonwealth Law School and her B.S. in Business Administration from Shippensburg University.

Devlin is a member of the Death Care and Real Estate teams. He counsels funeral homes, cemeteries, crematories and other businesses and professionals in general business matters, litigation and regulatory compliance. He also assists builders and developers, financial institutions and lenders, engineers, realtors, property owners and others with a range of realty related issues. Before joining Saxton & Stump, Devlin was a solo practitioner, representing businesses and individuals in contract, real estate, employment, insurance and general business matters. Devlin served as a law clerk for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania and Hon. Sandy L.V. Byrd of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. He also held a judicial fellowship with the Hon. Mark A. Kearney in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Devlin earned his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and a B.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of Pittsburgh and in Politics and Philosophy from the University Honors College.

Hershman focuses his practice on representing medical providers and facilities, including doctors, hospitals, and long-term and post-acute care facilities in medical professional liability cases as a member of the Healthcare Litigation and Mitigation team. He has experience defending automotive negligence actions and handling depositions, negotiating settlements and sitting first chair at arbitrations. Hershman was also a judicial extern for the Hon. Judith S. Charny at the New Jersey Superior Court in Camden County, New Jersey, and earned his J.D. with a concentration in litigation and dispute resolution from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law. Prior to law school, Hershman earned his B.S. in Supply Chain Management and Information Systems from Penn State.

Mead is the latest intellectual property attorney to join the firm’s team. A registered patent attorney, he assists clients with their intellectual property goals using patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secret protections. Prior to joining Saxton & Stump, Mead spent 18 years representing clients as the proprietor of Patent Law Associates. His firm handled domestic and foreign intellectual property matters for individual entrepreneurs, midsize local companies and multi-national corporations. Before entering private practice, Mead worked for 20 years as a mechanical engineer in the electrical power industry and was a licensed professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
