Saxton & Stump hires Director of Operations Keith Verner and adds to critical support teams

LANCASTER, Pa., March 14, 2022 — Saxton & Stump has hired Director of Operations Keith Verner. He will oversee the professionals who provide critical support to the firm’s clients, attorneys and consultants, including the finance, human resources, concierge, information technology, marketing and business development teams. The firm has been expanding these resources and recently hired HR Consultant Candice Rice, Business Development Strategist Erik Scott, Concierge/Client Services Specialist Kimberly Huber, IT Help Desk Lead Charles Rapp, and promoted Shelby Simione to concierge services manager. Saxton & Stump has already added a number of attorneys and practice areas this year, and Verner will play a significant role in developing the professionals, technology and facilities needed to support that growth and enable future strategic plans.

Verner brings broad experience to leading firm operations

With over two decades of experience, Verner emphasizes creating cultures of excellence by leveraging data analytics to unearth opportunities to enhance client and internal experiences. Prior to joining the firm, he held senior executive roles as the COO at Synapse, a marketing agency and as the operations manager then CEO for LabLearner, a neuroscience-based learning solutions company. At both companies, he oversaw critical multi-year structural growth programs and built a track record of meeting and exceeding strategic goals. A marketer by trade, Verner combines his expertise in marketing, operations and financial analysis to implement a strategic approach to capitalizing on efficiencies, developing business units, and retaining and attracting talent. Verner earned his B.S. in Marketing from Penn State University at the Smeal College of Business.

Concierge, Information Technology and HR teams add key talent

Candice Rice, SHRM-CP is one of a number of hires who will provide tactical support to the firm’s attorneys and consultants. Rice, as an HR Consultant, provides timely, hands-on personnel and HR support. Rice also serves at Granite HR Consulting, where she executes mission-critical initiatives while keeping in mind each client’s objectives and opportunities. An SHRM Certified Professional, Rice is active in the business community, serving on the board of directors for the Human Resources Professionals of Central PA as the diversity chair. She earned her B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Human Resources Management from York College of Pennsylvania.

Erik Scott will join the firm’s Business Development team and work directly with the firm’s attorneys and practice area chairs to identify and capitalize on opportunities. With nearly a decade of experience in legal marketing, Scott most recently served as a business development coordinator for Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP and before that served at Fox Rothschild LLP. He began his career at Philadelphia-based law firm Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young LLP as a marketing intern. Scott earned his B.A. in Communications from Drexel University with a concentration in Corporate and Public Relations.

Kimberly Huber is a member of Saxton & Stump’s Concierge Services team who upholds the firm’s five-star service environment by assisting with event planning, coordination and provides guests with an exceptional experience. Huber has years of previous experience in administrative leadership, event coordination and client service.

Shelby Simione has been promoted to Concierge Services Manager. In this role, she oversees the daily operations of the Concierge Services department. Prior to joining Saxton & Stump, Simione served in various event management positions for seven years at a hotel and resort in Lancaster where she gained significant client service and management experience.

The firm has also continued to add to its IT Helpdesk to support all attorneys and professionals. Charles Rapp will lead the IT Helpdesk team as they meet the day-to-day technology needs of the firm. Rapp has been in the IT profession for 22 years after a brief stint as a chemist. He has led IT teams at a number of organizations, overseeing and coordinating technology direction and strategy, process and quality improvement, as well as designing, building and securing key network infrastructure. He graduated from Lee University in 1996 with a B.S. in Biology and Chemistry.

The firm was named the fastest growing law firm in Pennsylvania by The Legal Intelligencer, having added 53 professionals in 2021, including 22 attorneys. Overall, Saxton & Stump has grown to a team of more than 150 professionals, including 77 attorneys.
