Lancaster County, PA, January 26, 2017 – Saxton & Stump is pleased to announce that Steven D. Costello, Esq. has joined the firm as a shareholder. Mr. Costello focuses his practice in professional malpractice litigation, defending physicians, hospitals and long-term care facilities, as well as business litigation and medical device litigation.
Mr. Costello has devoted more than 30 years of his legal career in handling civil litigation and constantly provides his clients with thoughtful, aggressive and effective representation. The majority of his practice involves defending cases associated with catastrophic injury or death. He has successfully represented numerous Fortune 500 companies and major hospitals, health care systems and insurance companies, having received nearly 150 defense verdicts. Prior to joining Saxton & Stump, Mr. Costello served as a Principal at Post & Schell in the firm’s Professional Liability Defense Department and Administrative Principal in their Allentown, PA office.
Mr. Costello is an active member of many local and national associations, including the Pennsylvania Bar Association where he served on the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee, Health Law Committee and the Interdisciplinary Committee on Medical and Health Related Issues. He serves on the Long Term Care/ALF Committee for the Defense Research Institute. In addition, he is a Fellow of the Academy of Advocacy and Master of the American Inns of Court. Mr. Costello was recently selected by his peers for inclusion in 2017 edition of The Best Lawyers in America. He was also named a 2016 Select Lawyer in Lehigh Valley and has been designated a Super Lawyer as published in Philadelphia magazine. Mr. Costello earned a J.D. from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey School of Law, where he was the recipient of the Philip Levin Scholarship, and a B.A. in Economics from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.
