PHILADELPHIA, October 10, 2022 — Saxton & Stump’s growth continues as the law firm has leased a new, larger office space in downtown Philadelphia at the historic Wells Fargo Building. The building, a 29-story high rise at 123 S. Broad St., is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places for its lavish architecture and important tenants it has housed throughout its near 100 years since being built. The expanded, full-service office space will allow the firm not only to accommodate its current needs but also allow for future growth in numerous practice areas, adding value to all locations.
“We’ve made it clear the Philadelphia area is important to our strategic plan,” Saxton & Stump CEO James W. Saxton said. “It was imperative for us to give the attorneys and staff working there the space and state-of-the-art infrastructure they needed to help us carry out future growth.”
Saxton & Stump opened a downtown Philadelphia office in July when the firm added shareholder Mark E. Cedrone and attorney Aubrey C. Emrich. The attorneys and their office staff initially remained at the former firm’s office on Broad Street. Since then, Saxton & Stump has grown by attracting Philadelphia-area attorneys who have added to the Investigations and Criminal Defense Group, Intellectual Property, Healthcare Litigation, and Franchising, Licensing and Distribution teams.
The new office will be on the 28th floor of the Wells Fargo Building. It will not only will house Cedrone and Emrich, but also other Philadelphia attorneys that joined the firm recently, such as well-known Philadelphia-area lawyers M. Kelly Tillery and John W. Goldschmidt Jr. and new associate Andrea N. Kusselson. Two of the firm’s most accomplished litigators, Chad G. Goebel and Carson B. Morris, will also be serving clients out of the office downtown. Overall, the firm expects to add attorneys to the office in order to serve their clients’ litigation needs through their Intellectual Property Litigation, Healthcare Litigation and Commercial Litigation teams. They will also serve businesses strategic legal needs with their Intellectual Property, Franchising, Licensing and Distribution, and Business and Corporate teams. In addition to serving clients in Philadelphia, the legal and business professionals based in the new office will also serve clients in Central Pennsylvania, where the firm still has its roots, and in Charleston, South Carolina, where the firm is has been growing strategically.

The firm was named the fastest growing law firm in Pennsylvania by The Legal Intelligencer, having added 53 professionals in 2021, including 22 attorneys. Overall, Saxton & Stump has grown to a team of more than 160 professionals, including 90 attorneys. The firm has added new services and established groups dedicated to franchising licensing and distribution, investigations and criminal defense and environmental, workplace safety and utilities. In addition to bolstering their infrastructure, they have also grown key existing practice areas such as healthcare, senior care, real estate, government affairs and trusts and estates.
