Charleston, S.C., December 20, 2022 — Saxton & Stump is proud to announce it has welcomed two new associate attorneys to its Charleston office. The attorneys will add to the firm’s South Carolina footprint and give the office the resources it needs to serve clients throughout the state. Isabelle S. Young is part of the firm’s Commercial Litigation and Investigations and Criminal Defense groups, and Cody S. Deckert is a member of the Trusts and Estates Group as well as the Business, Corporate and Tax Group.
“Isabelle and Cody possess the values and the versatile, strong legal abilities we are seeking in our attorneys as we grow strategically to serve clients in South Carolina,” Saxton & Stump CEO James W. Saxton said. “We look forward to continuing to invest in our Charleston office and welcoming their tremendous talents to our team.”
Young joined in October shortly after one of her mentors, the Hon. Margaret B. Seymour (Ret.), joined Saxton & Stump in the Charleston office. Following her graduation from the University of South Carolina School of Law, Young worked as both a private practice attorney in commercial litigation and as a judicial clerk in three different districts – Washington D.C., South Carolina and Colorado. Her last two clerkships, including her work with Judge Seymour, were in her home state of South Carolina. Young also worked as an editor and writer at the Bloomberg Bureau of National Affairs in Denver.
Deckert earned his Executive Master of Laws degree in Taxation from Georgetown University and has most recently worked for an AmLaw 200 firm assisting high- and ultra-high net-worth individuals and families to achieve their personal, financial and philanthropic objectives. Deckert is a graduate of the Charleston School of Law and former college football player for the Hampden-Sydney Tigers, where he majored in Government and Spanish.
