LANCASTER, Pa., November 6, 2023 — Saxton & Stump is pleased to announce the hire of Xiaoying “Snow” Zhang, Sr. Counsel, as an accomplished patent attorney, Ph.D., and entrepreneur. Zhang is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Group. In addition to her law degree from the University of Pittsburgh, she earned a Ph.D. in biochemical engineering from one of China’s top academic institutes. She is experienced in patent prosecution in technology areas such as life sciences, biopharma, chemistry, and chemical engineering, robotics, and AI. She previously worked as a project IP manager for a large Pittsburgh-based university. Before that, she held an in-house counsel position with a robotics company. Zhang has also held roles as a licensing manager for a university technology transfer office along with founding her own law firm and co-founding an artificial intelligence solutions company.

Zhang is an adjunct professor at the University of Pittsburgh. Before attending law school, she worked as a research assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh, where she focused her research on diabetes and pancreatic cell regeneration, as well as liver regeneration.
