Andrew is a member of the Intellectual Property Group and a registered patent attorney who strategically counsels and advises clients on a comprehensive plan for identifying, protecting and monetizing their intellectual property portfolio. He works with large, mid-size and small businesses, as well as start-ups and individual inventors on patent strategy, patent applications and prosecution, patent appeals and post-issuance procedures. His experience includes working with clients on protecting innovations in consumer products, building designs and materials, tools, agricultural equipment, advanced energy processes, aviation components and industrial manufacturing equipment and processes. Andrew also works with artists, filmmakers, authors and others in the entertainment field. He represents clients in litigation matters arising from intellectual property disputes as well.

Before joining Saxton & Stump, Andrew spent 18 years representing clients as the proprietor of Patent Law Associates. His firm handled domestic and foreign intellectual property matters for individual entrepreneurs, midsize local companies and multi-national corporations.

Before entering private practice, Andrew worked for 20 years as a mechanical engineer in the electrical power industry and was a licensed professional engineer in Pennsylvania. He worked as a project engineer responsible for design and modification of numerous power and safety systems in several nuclear, electric-generating stations. He also has significant experience in the design, testing and operation of large diesel engines and related auxiliary systems used in standby power applications.

In the community, Andrew advises the Conestoga Valley High School Mock Trial Team. He is also a former member of the board of directors at Samaritan Counseling Center in Lancaster and a former member and president of the board of trustees at Highland Presbyterian Church. An avid lifelong cyclist, he gives back to the biking community as a member of the board of directors of the Pennsylvania Randonneurs, a regional division of the nationwide long-distance cycling organization.
