Andrew D. Mead, Esq. is a member of the Intellectual Property team and a registered patent attorney who assists clients with their intellectual property goals using patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secret protections. He focuses on patent strategy, patent applications and prosecution, patent appeals and post-issuance procedures, primarily in the electro-mechanical fields. His experience includes patent applications related to consumer products, building designs and materials, tools, agricultural equipment, aviation components and industrial manufacturing equipment and processes. He also represents clients in litigation matters arising from intellectual property disputes.

Prior to joining Saxton & Stump, Andrew spent 18 years representing clients as the proprietor of Patent Law Associates. His firm handled domestic and foreign intellectual property matters for individual entrepreneurs, midsize local companies and multi-national corporations.

Before entering private practice, Andrew worked for 20 years as a mechanical engineer in the electrical power industry and was a licensed professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He worked as a design and project engineer responsible for design and modification of steam cycle, cooling, ventilation, AC and DC electrical distribution, system controls, fire protection and security systems in several nuclear electric generating stations. He also has significant experience in the design, testing and operation of large diesel engines and related auxiliary systems used in standby power applications.

In the community, Andrew serves on the board for the Samaritan Counseling Center and advises the Conestoga Valley High School Mock Trial Team.
