Dr. Angela Spurgeon is a medical consultant and board-certified neurosurgeon at the Springfield Neurological and Spine Institute, located within the Jared Neuroscience Center of Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri.  Since 2017, Dr. Spurgeon has delivered neurosurgical care to patients for a wide variety of neurosurgical problems including: degenerative spine conditions, spinal trauma/spinal instability, spinal cord injuries, head trauma, intracranial hemorrhage, stereotactic radiosurgery, brain and spine tumors, pituitary surgery, deep brain stimulation, management of hydrocephalus, and spinal cord stimulation. 

She is licensed to practice in both Missouri and Arkansas, and became board certified in 2021 by the American Board of Neurological Surgery. 

Dr. Spurgeon has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and presented at national and international conferences on topics ranging from brain tumors and CNS infections to bioelectrics and advanced imaging technologies.  

She remains active in resident and medical student education through her appointment as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Neurological Surgery at the University of Missouri College of Medicine.  

She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences after graduating from Westminster College with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology.
