Dr. Mershon is a medical consultant for Saxton & Stump. He consults with insureds and prospects on their risk, reimbursement and physician health platforms and is experienced in consulting on quality assurance and peer reviews.

Dr. Mershon is a board-certified family medicine physician practicing with Penn State Health Medical Group – Cornerstone Family Health in Lititz. He also is affiliated with Lancaster General Hospital, where he completed his residency after medical school.

Dr. Mershon brings many years of leadership experience in the medical field. As past president of the board of directors of Central Pennsylvania Physicians Risk Retention Group (now CPP Insurance Company), he led the mission of providing a stable source of professional liability insurance, while serving the core needs of its members with unique loss control resources, risk reduction measures, and practice improvement strategies.  In addition, for over 20 years, he served on the board of directors of Physicians Alliance Limited. He also served as medical director at the Diabetes Center for Improvement, Lancaster Diabetes Center and as associate medical director and a member of the medical advisory board for the Hospice of Lancaster County.

An active member in the community, Dr. Mershon shares his expertise with many organizations including Water Street Ministries where he has served on the board of directors and Water Street Health Services where he has chaired and served on the board of directors. In addition, Dr. Mershon is president of Cornerstone Ministry Services and is a long serving member of Bethany Christian Services Lancaster and Project Access Lancaster County.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Mershon received numerous honors including the Distinguished Service Award in 1996 and 2008 from the Lancaster City and County Medical Society, the Arete Award in 2002 for community service, Volunteer Physician of the Year in 1996 from the Pennsylvania Medical Society, and the Alumni Citation in 2016 from Lebanon Valley College.
