Dr. Christopher Nielsen is a medical consultant and board-certified cardiologist based in South Carolina. He serves as the program director of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina, where he is also a professor of medicine and cardiology. He is also a staff physician at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina.
Dr. Nielsen holds two certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine in cardiovascular diseases and interventional cardiology.
He previously served as director of the Adult Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories at the Medical University of South Carolina from 2000 to 2023 and director of the Cardiac Cath Lab at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center from 2000 to 2003. Earlier in his career, he was in private practice with Palmetto Cardiology in Columbia, South Carolina, from 1996 to 1998, after completing a cardiology fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina from 1993 to 1996.
