Denise M. Remillard brings more than 35 years of Pennsylvania state government, publishing and advertising experience to her government relations liaison position in the Saxton & Stump Regulatory and Government Affairs Group. The well-connected and well-respected former state executive assists clients in the development and implementation of economic development funding strategies for clients.
Denise came to Saxton & Stump from the Pennsylvania Governor’s Office of Administration as its director of special projects. In her one year in the executive position, she was a special assistant to the office’s secretary, spearheaded a mental health campaign for the state’s 80,000 employees, a workforce development strategy and training and staff recognition programs.
She spent more than 15 years in vital leadership positions at the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. Denise first served as the director of economic development marketing, then as a special assistant to the secretary/executive office, and as the executive director for the Center for Community Services. She’s led programs such as the Pennsylvania Weatherization Assistance Program, the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, the Community Services Block Grant, and the Neighborhood Assistance Program. She also directly supervised DCED’s six regional directors as the executive director of the Center for Community Services. As the director of economic development marketing, she worked to create and execute strategies to attract businesses to Pennsylvania.
Before undertaking her government work, Denise worked in media, marketing, and advertising. For almost 10 years, she was an associate publisher at Journal Publications in Harrisburg, in charge of Central Penn Parent magazine and 11 other publications, including their websites and events.
