Jennifer joins the firm as a shareholder and member of the firm’s Business, Corporate and Tax, Trusts and Estates, and Real Estate groups working out of the Charleston, South Carolina office. She was most recently the founder and managing attorney of the Law Office of Jennifer Williams in Charleston, S.C. Jennifer has more than a decade of experience in private practice after working in both the Ninth Circuit Solicitor’s Office as an assistant solicitor and in the South Carolina Office of the Attorney General as an assistant attorney general.
Jennifer has robust business and legal experience and has worked in the areas of commercial real estate transactions, including bulk closings for an investment firm, contract negotiations, and commercial landlord-tenant matters, as well as strategic collaboration with multiple parties in the negotiation of asset purchases/sales, commercial leases, and real estate contracts. Additionally, she has worked with clients on business formation, contract and document drafting, and acted as general counsel working with a small technology company that manufactures and provides environmental monitoring systems, a group purchasing organization, and a regional contractor and home builder.
While at the Ninth Circuit Solicitor’s Office, Jennifer prosecuted more than 700 felony and misdemeanor criminal cases and tried nine cases to verdict. She started her legal career as an assistant attorney general in the South Carolina Office of the Attorney General, where she worked in post-conviction relief (PCR) actions and subsequent appeals. She also worked at three different firms while in law school and at the City of Chicago Department of Law.
Jennifer is also a title agent at Investors Title Insurance Agency and at Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company.
