Karen Lambert is a registered nurse and paralegal and is part of the Saxton & Stump Healthcare Litigation Group, helping to defend medical professionals against malpractice claims. She has combined her professional experience to be a “nurse paralegal,” working with law firms since 1995 to analyze and authenticate medical information. She’s worked with law firms in medical malpractice defense, personal injury defense, product liability and mass tort defense and long-term care and nursing home defense. Since 2017, she’s been working as a legal nurse consultant for professional liability and nursing home cases.  She has experience with the summarizing medical records for attorneys, obtaining medical records, performing biomedical research, preparing expert witnesses, digesting medical information in depositions for attorney use in court and reviewing expert reports for accuracy.

Karen started her career as a nurse, working in hospitals and private practices in critical care, psychiatry and office management, working at facilities such as Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, the Eastern Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute and a county and state prison. She continues to volunteer for the Philadelphia Department of Public Health as part of the Philadelphia Medical Reserve Corps, where she is trained to respond to public health emergencies and disasters.
