Attorney Lou Fiorilla returns to central PA from Atlanta to lead Saxton & Stump’s Banking and Financial Services team

LANCASTER, Pa., August 11, 2020 — Attorney Louis G. Fiorilla has joined Saxton & Stump’s Lancaster office to lead the firm’s Banking and Financial Services group. A Lebanon County native, Lou has spent the last five years practicing law in the Atlanta, GA office of Burr & Forman LLP, which is ranked among the nation’s top 200 firms.

“Lou is a litigator who has a niche focus in the banking and financial services industry, and we are pleased to welcome him back to central Pennsylvania,” said James W. Saxton, CEO. “His knowledge and perspective combined with that of our attorneys, including Barry Solodky, provides Saxton & Stump’s clients with a strong resource as we continue to help them navigate the challenges they may face in the current economic landscape.”

Saxton & Stump’s Banking and Financial Services group focuses on supporting national and regional banks, credit unions, lenders, mortgage servicers, debt buyers and real estate investment groups on matters involving disputes and litigation. The team also provides strategic analysis of financial services companies’ compliance with consumer protection statutes and state mortgage servicing and foreclosure laws.

Fiorilla brings more than 10 years of experience litigating disputes in federal, state and appellate courts. He represents lenders, mortgage servicers, and debt buyers and collectors in consumer statute, mortgage servicing and foreclosure, account servicing and fraud lawsuits. He also represents businesses and individuals in contract and fiduciary duty disputes, and both landlords and tenants in commercial lease and eviction disputes.

Fiorilla received his J.D. from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law and his B.A. in political science and economics from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. While in law school, he served as a law clerk for the Hon. George A. Pagano at the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania and got his start as a litigator at Pendergast & Associates, P.C. in Atlanta, where he practiced for five years before joining Burr & Forman LLP.

At the beginning of the year, the firm welcomed attorney Barry Solodky to lead its Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights practice. Solodky is well-known in the central Pennsylvania business community and has been serving clients for more than four decades in bankruptcy law. In March, Saxton & Stump also added attorney Pauline Felice Gibble as an associate to support the growing practice. Gibble is a former career judicial law clerk serving two chief judges for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. She clerked for Hon. Richard E. Fehling for 13 years until his retirement in 2019 and also for Hon. Thomas M. Twardowski for 18 years until his retirement in 2006.

Saxton & Stump’s strategic growth outlook

Saxton & Stump has added 12 attorneys and five professionals already this year and formed four new practice areas in Banking and Financial Services, Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights, Information Privacy and Cybersecurity, Regulatory and Government Affairs and Trucking and Commercial Transportation. Based on their strategic plan for 2020, the firm plans to continue to expand its current team of lawyers and professionals, focusing on bringing additional resources to support client needs.

“Our focus remains on our clients and as their businesses grow, we continually adapt our strategic plan to grow with them,” said Saxton. “We plan to add attorneys this year who are client-focused, innovative and leaders in their fields.”
