Attorney Chad Goebel joins Saxton & Stump’s litigation team in Malvern
MALVERN, Pa., October 5, 2020 — Attorney Chilton (“Chad”) G. Goebel has joined Saxton & Stump as a Shareholder in the firm’s healthcare litigation and commercial litigation practices in Malvern. Goebel is a trial attorney with significant experience in litigating complex medical malpractice, product liability and casualty matters involving catastrophic injuries. He is the 13th attorney Saxton & Stump has added so far this year to its growing team of more than 100 business professionals, including 51 attorneys.
“Chad is known for his aggressive and pragmatic approach to defending cases,” said Saxton & Stump CEO James W. Saxton. “His experience and impressive reputation in the courtroom makes him an outstanding addition to our team of 39 litigators, two former judges and trial technology consultants to represent our clients.”
Saxton & Stump was named in the 2020 edition of U.S. News – Best Lawyers “Best Law Firms” as a Tier 1 firm in Professional Malpractice Law – Defendants and Tier 2 firm in Medical Malpractice Law – Defendants in Metropolitan Philadelphia. The firm was also ranked Tier 1 Litigation – Health Care in Metropolitan Harrisburg. This marks the third consecutive year that Saxton & Stump has been ranked on the list since the firm’s inception in 2015.
Prior to joining Saxton & Stump, Goebel was a partner at Philadelphia-based German, Gallagher & Murtagh where he practiced in the professional liability, casualty litigation, products liability and commercial liabilities groups. He received his J.D. from Widener University School of Law and began his career with Messick & Weber, P.C. based in Media, Pennsylvania. Goebel received his B.S. in biology and philosophy from LaSalle University.
Goebel, and all of Saxton & Stump’s litigators, are supported by insights from Hon. Lawrence F. Stengel (Ret.), former Chief Judge for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania (EDPA) and Hon. Robert A. Graci (Ret.), former Pennsylvania Superior Court judge and retired Chief Counsel to the Judicial Conduct Board of Pennsylvania. Stengel joined the firm shortly after announcing his retirement two years ago. He previously served for 14 years as a U.S. District Judge for the EDPA and 14 years with the Lancaster Court of Common Pleas before joining Saxton & Stump to lead its internal investigations practice, which has grown significantly since his arrival.
