Saxton & Stump Adds Intellectual Property Practice Area, Hires Two Senior Attorneys Bruce J. Wolstoncroft as Shareholder and Chair of Group and Helen Odar Wolstoncroft as Senior Counsel
Lancaster County, PA, June 11, 2018 – Saxton & Stump, a Pennsylvania-based law firm, has announced the formation of an Intellectual Property Practice Area that will provide new and existing clients (entrepreneurs, startups, established companies, and multinational companies) with a full range of intellectual property services, including the creation, implementation, transfer, and litigation of patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets. The practice group will be led by Bruce J. Wolstoncroft, Esq., who joined Saxton & Stump as a Shareholder on June 11, 2018 and has merged his practice with the firm. In addition, Helen Odar Wolstoncroft, Esq. joined the practice group as Senior Counsel.

Bruce is a seasoned intellectual property attorney with over 30 years of corporate and law firm experience. Prior to joining Saxton & Stump, he served nearly 10 years as a member and co-managed the Intellectual Property and Patent Groups at McNees Wallace & Nurick. Bruce was also a partner and Chair of the Intellectual Property and Technology Law Group at Barley, Snyder, Senft & Cohen, where he participated in the creation and growth of the group. Bruce also gained extensive experience at two Fortune 500 companies. He managed the Intellectual Property Department and the global intellectual property portfolio of Armstrong World Industries. Bruce is a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He is a member of many professional associations, including the American, Pennsylvania, and Lancaster Bar Associations, and American Intellectual Property Association. Bruce earned his J.D. from University of Pittsburgh School of Law and B.S. from Carnegie-Mellon University.
Helen brings extensive experience in intellectual property, including preparation and prosecution, counseling, licensing and other corporate transactions, as well as litigation, to Saxton & Stump. Prior to joining the firm, Helen worked for two large multinational corporations. When she moved to Lancaster, she also practiced at Barley, Snyder, Senft & Cohen in their intellectual property group. In addition, she practiced at several well-known law firms in Chicago, including Kirkland & Ellis, Sidley & Austin and Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, where she was a shareholder. She started her career in intellectual property as a patent examiner in the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office in Washington, D.C. Helen is currently an adjunct professor of law at Penn State Dickinson Law School. She is a member of the American Bar Association. Helen earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from The American University Washington College of Law and a B.S from University of Notre Dame.
