Michael T. Traxler, Esq.

Michael T. Traxler, Esq. is a shareholder and Chair of Saxton & Stump’s Trucking and Commercial Transportation Group and a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation and Construction Law groups. He is a dynamic litigator with nearly 20 years of experience serving the legal needs of businesses in the trucking and construction industries.

Mike focuses in the areas of commercial motor vehicle, construction and premises liability litigation. He has litigation experience throughout Pennsylvania’s state court system and a significant amount of experience in Pennsylvania’s federal courts. Mike has represented clients in both jury and non-jury trials and has helped clients resolve hundreds of cases through alternative dispute resolutions including mediation and arbitration.

He currently serves as general counsel to motor carriers and coordinates the investigation of major accidents that occur throughout the country. As general counsel to the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association, Mike stays on top of the ever-changing regulations and issues impacting the trucking industry. He is frequently called upon to interpret federal and state regulations and statutes and implement strategies to protect the business interests of trucking companies.

In his construction practice, Mike represents contractors, subcontractors and product manufacturers on breach of contract claims, defective workmanship, client transactional needs and business formations.

Before joining Saxton & Stump, Mike was a shareholder for a Central Pennsylvania-based firm. Prior to that, he was a litigator for nine years in the Harrisburg office of a prominent Philadelphia insurance defense firm where he was responsible for the immediate response investigation of more than 100 incidents involving catastrophic injuries and fatalities. Mike’s evidence gathering and preservation experience enable him to advise clients on strategically positioning themselves to advance their interests in future litigation and, in some circumstances, avoiding lawsuits altogether.

Mike has lived in Central Pennsylvania for more than thirty years. When not in the office or court, you will find Mike enjoying time with his family, volunteering for the Susquehanna River Trail Association, kayak fishing or skiing.
