Raymond L. Singer, MD, MMM, CPE, FACS, FACC, FCCP, is a cardiothoracic surgeon with 25 years of active clinical practice and extensive experience with healthcare reform, quality assurance, and medical liability matters.
Dr. Singer is a graduate of Muhlenberg College and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He completed his General Surgery Residency and Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Dr. Singer is certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He achieved a Master of Medical Management (MMM) at the H. John Heinz III School of Public Policy and Management at Carnegie Mellon University. Dr. Singer also achieved a Certified Physician Executive (CPE) certificate by the Certifying Commission in Medical Management of the America College of Physician Executives. He is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
He is the recipient of numerous awards including the George W. Householder, III Memorial Prize for Clinical Cardiovascular Research from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, the Armandi Goracci, MD Memorial Prize for Teaching, the DuPont Pharmaceutical Young Investigators Award, The Pennsylvania Association for Thoracic Surgery Award for Clinical Research, the American Heart Association Physician Award for Acute Care in Cardiovascular Surgery, and the Distinguished and Exceptional Attainments in Life Alumni Achievement Award at Muhlenberg College.
Dr. Singer is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the Society of Thoracic Surgery, the American College of Cardiology, and the American College of Chest Physicians. Dr. Singer currently serves on the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) Workforce on Health Policy, Reform, and Advocacy and the STS Political Action Committee (PAC) Board of Advisors. He is a Past-President of the Pennsylvania Association for Thoracic Surgery and Past-President of the Lehigh County Medical Society. Dr. Singer serves on the Editorial Board for American Health and Drug Benefits.
