MALVERN, Pa., January 10, 2025 — Saxton & Stump, a leading law firm known for its innovative approach to legal services, is pleased to announce the promotion of Kathryn D. Maza Courtney to senior counsel. As a key contributor to the Investigations and Criminal Defense, Appellate and Post-Trial Advocacy, and Healthcare Litigation groups, Courtney delivers strategic guidance to hospitals, healthcare professionals, and corporations, addressing litigation, appellate challenges, and risk mitigation issues.
The promotion took effect Jan. 1.

Courtney joined Saxton & Stump following a distinguished tenure at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, one of the largest law firms in the world. Before moving into private practice, Courtney honed her craft by clerking for the esteemed Hon. Kent A. Jordan, who has been a judge at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit for nearly 20 years. She also clerked for the Hon. Eduardo C. Robreno at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
She is a magna cum laude graduate of the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, where she has previously served as an adjunct professor. Courtney is also a magna cum laude graduate of Bryn Mawr College and is a former trustee of the Gladwyne Library.
