Erik Hume, Esq. Published in Pennsylvania Bar Association Winter/Spring 2019 Newsletter

Erik M. Hume, Esq. recently was featured in the Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section of the Winter/Spring 2019 Pennsylvania Bar Association Newsletter. His article, “Act 84 of 2018: More Changes for Common Interest Communities”, covers how Act 84 of 2018 impacts Pennsylvania’s common interest ownership acts. The implementation of Act 84 amends the Pennsylvania Uniform Condominium Act, the Pennsylvania Real Estate Cooperative Act, and the Pennsylvania Uniform Planned Community Act.

This act specifically addressed how association boards are allowed to deal with delinquent unit owners, a procedure for transitioning the community association from the declarant to the unit owner, and clarifies who is responsible for maintenance of stormwater management, among other issues.
