Meghan Van Leeuwen, Esq. is a patent attorney in the firm’s Intellectual Property group where she counsels clients regarding intellectual property issues. Meghan’s practice focuses on patent strategy, trademark preparation and prosecution, and the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, particularly in the biotechnology area.

A registered patent attorney, Meghan has experience drafting patent applications in a wide variety of biotechnology, chemical, electronic and mechanical arts. Some of her patent drafting experience includes patent applications related to biotechnology, rapid point-of-care diagnostic devices, semiconductors, carbon fibers, downdraw glass-forming methods and apparatuses, electrostatic precipitators, mechanical arts and automotive technologies.

Prior to joining Saxton & Stump, Meghan worked for 18 years for a law firm based in Ithaca, NY.  Meghan practiced as a registered patent agent while attending Cornell Law School, graduating cum laude, becoming a patent attorney in 2005 and a non-equity partner in 2012.
